Three practices

1 Samuel 4-6; Luke 9:1-17

Luke 9:11 is a curious verse to me. Jesus tries to get some time alone, but the crowds find him anyway. They’re like buzzing flies that won’t go away. If it was me, I’d swat at them, tell them I need some space and “alone time.”

But Jesus does something entirely different. The text mentions three specific things. He welcomes them. He teaches them about the Kingdom. He heals the sick.

I wonder, what does a Christianity look like with these three things as its bedrock?

Welcoming. Teaching. Healing.

Are these our foundational practices as Jesus’ people?
