Here’s what’s happening with Fiftyeight this week.
Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:
1… Link of the week: Check out all the photos from Rush Week!
2… Prayer… Wednesday, 9 am. I’m going over to the 24-7 prayer room at Harvest Market (21st & Nogales, behind Eugene Fields elementary). You’re welcome to join me. Meet me at the church a little before 9, or see me over there. Maybe we can grab coffee and bagels afterwards.
3… Owen Park… Thursday, meet at the church at 6:30. We’ll drive over to Owen Park, just northwest of the BOK Center downtown. It’s a BBQ with homeless friends and others. Come ready to crawl out of your comfort zone and meet Jesus. See more details on the website.
4… Cookout And… Friday, 6 pm at Peter’s house this week (5172 E 30th St, close to 31st and Yale). Bring your favorite cookout food to share. There will be Wii, board games, movies, yada, yada, yada.
5… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym at the church. As we read through the Bible in the year, we’re now into Esther and Job and Acts. Feel free to jump in with us. Bookmark the schedule here.
Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.
Final thought…
“God didn’t send us a summary or an outline or a how-to book. He gifted us with a complex compilation of story, doctrine, poetry and prophecy. It takes a lifetime to absorb. Scripture is not a computer manual to be mastered analytically, though rational study is essential. More like an anoin, the Bible has layers and layers to unpeel. We mull over it, we inhale it, we savor it. To really get it, we obey it.”
–Miriam Adeney, Kingdom Without Borders
