Here’s what’s happening with Fiftyeight this week.
Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:
1… Link of the week: Holy Cow Creative. “Our goal: Make the church the most ridiculously creative place on the planet.” Those of you into design will really dig this.
2… Kitchen Korner demolition… Wednesday, 9 am. We’re gutting the blue building on 10th and Main, behind the YFC parking lot and facing the metro campus of TCC. By fall this will be Fiftyeight’s unique meeting space. Bring work gloves and appropriate shoes for a construction site (thick soles, closed-toe, definitely no sandals/flip flops). Come whenever you can, for as long as you can. Probably wrapping up around 5 pm. Lunch will be provided.
3… Owen Park… Thursday, meet at the church at 6:30. We’ll drive over to Owen Park, just northwest of the BOK Center downtown. It’s a BBQ with homeless friends and others. Come ready to crawl out of your comfort zone and meet Jesus. See more details on the website.
4… Cookout And… Friday, 6 pm at Peter’s house this week (5172 E 30th St, close to 31st and Yale). Bring your favorite cookout food to share and somebody to share it with. You want community? This is it. No agenda but hanging out, laughing and having a good time. Because that’s what Jesus did.
5… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym at the church. As we read through the Bible in the year, we’re now into Job and Acts. Feel free to jump in with us. Bookmark the schedule here.
Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.
Final thought…
“Those who love their dream of a Christian community more than the Christian community itself become destroyers of that Christian community even though their personal intentions may be ever so honest, earnest, and sacrificial.”
–Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Life Together
