Here’s what’s happening with Fiftyeight this week.
Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:
1… Float trip!… We did this last month, and it was such a hit, we’re doing it again. But we need you to RSVP in advance as the float company needs to know how boats to reserve. Cost is $20, lunch provided. Let Samantha or Peter know if you’re coming.
2… Kitchen Korner demolition… Miss out on demolition days last week? Check out the pictures! Tons of progress last week. You can still help out this week on Thursday and Friday, both 1 pm to 5 pm. We’ll be working those two afternoons clearing out debris. Come and join the fun.
3… Owen Park… Thursday, meet at the church at 6:30. We’ll drive over to Owen Park, just northwest of the BOK Center downtown. It’s a BBQ with homeless friends and others. Come ready to crawl out of your comfort zone and meet Jesus. See more details on the website.
4… Cookout and game night… Friday, 6 pm at Peter’s house this week (5172 E 30th St, close to 31st and Yale). Bring your favorite cookout food to share and somebody to share it with. You want community? This is it. No agenda but hanging out, laughing and having a good time. Because that’s what Jesus did.
5… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym at the church. As we read through the Bible in the year, we’re now into Psalms and Acts. Feel free to jump in with us. Bookmark the schedule here.
Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.
Final thought…
“One of the greatest myths and most disempowering concepts of our collegiate years is the faulty idea that real life starts later. As if the daily decisions that deeply influence our friends, significantly shape our campuses and regularly recenter our lives have no actual bearing in the real world.”
–Trent Sheppard, God on Campus: Sacred Causes & Global Effects
