Here’s what’s happening with Fiftyeight this week.
Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:
1… Link o’ the week… 10 Things I Wish I’d Known When I was 21 by ORU President Dr. Mark Rutland.
2… Kitchen Korner demolition… Have you seen how we’ve wrecked that blue building? You can still help out this week on Thursday starting at 9 am through lunch time. If you come out to help haul debris from our future hangout spot, we’ll buy lunch! Come and join the fun.
3… Owen Park… Thursday, meet at the church at 6:30. We’ll drive over to Owen Park, just northwest of the BOK Center downtown. It’s a BBQ with homeless friends and others. Come ready to crawl out of your comfort zone and meet Jesus. See more details on the website.
4… Cookout and movie night… Friday, 6 pm at Peter’s house this week (5172 E 30th St, close to 31st and Yale). We’re watching The Goonies. Bring your favorite cookout food to share and somebody to share it with. You want community? This is it. No agenda but hanging out, laughing and having a good time. Because that’s what Jesus did.
5… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym at the church. As we read through the Bible in the year, we’re now into Psalms and Acts. Feel free to jump in with us. Bookmark the schedule here.
Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.
Final thought…
“The more deeply we grow into the psalms and the more often we pray them as our own, the more simple and rich will our prayer become.”
–Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Life Together
