Here’s what’s happening with Fiftyeight this week.
Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:
1… Link o’ the week… BestBookBuys.com. Comparison shop for textbooks (and other books) on the web. A great resource for the beginning of the semester!
2… Hope for Creation… Beginning this week on Wednesday nights throughout the fall, I’ll be teaching from the video series from Dr. Matthew Sleeth. Starts at 6:30 in room YFC 212. Other classes offered this fall include Financial Peace University, and Bible study with Dr. Arden Autry. A full listing is on the church website.
3… Owen Park… Thursday, meet at the church at 6:30. We’ll drive over to Owen Park, just northwest of the BOK Center downtown. It’s a BBQ with homeless friends and others. Come ready to crawl out of your comfort zone and meet Jesus. See more details on the website.
4… Women’s soccer, OU at TU… This Friday night the Sooners take on the Golden Hurricane at Hurricane Stadium in Tulsa. We’ll meet up at Taco Bueno (11th & Delaware) at 6:30. The game starts at 7:35 pm. Come on out and help us support Shelby, Bradi, Brooke, Miranda and the rest!
5… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym at the church. There’s good food, good people, and an exploration of faith and the college life. This week we start our series “Everything is Spiritual.” We’ll talk about work, and how your job is a part of your spiritual life.
Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.
Final thought…
“You yourself must endure the painful process of change. There is much more at work here than your instant maturity. God wants to build a relationship with you that is based on faith and trust and not on glamorous miracles.”
