Labor Day has come and gone. Close the books on summer! I could swear, yesterday was May. So much happened: Rush Week, float trip, cookouts, Owen Park, Kitchen Korner, Ghana. If you haven’t already, check out all the photos.
Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:
1… Link o’ the week… One Day’s Wages (ODW) is an international grassroots movement dedicated to ending extreme global poverty. Check it out!
2… Fall Retreat… It is not cool to be “busy.” It’s not the life God made you for. It’s not the life Jesus calls you to. So plan to carve out October 15 and 16, a Friday and Saturday, approximately 30 hours, to tell your schedule and “busy-ness” to stop it. Cost will be $45, and that takes care of your place to sleep, four meals, high ropes course, zip line, teaching and worship. You won’t want to miss it. Online registration coming very soon.
3… Campus visits… OSU: Samantha and Peter are coming to Stillwater. We’ll be at Hideaway Pizza at 5:30 pm. We’ll see you there.
4… Hope for Creation… This Wednesday we continue the Blessed Earth video series from Dr. Matthew Sleeth. Starts at 6:30 in room YFC 212. Look for the Fiftyeight banner at the end of the hallway.
5… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym of the sanctuary building at the church. There’s good food, good people, and an exploration of faith and the college life. This week we continue our series “Everything is Spiritual.” We’ll talk about money, and how your finances are a part of your spiritual life.
Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.
Final thought…
“Jesus’ whole message is one of life-giving. He came to give life and to give it abundantly. He came to take away all the blockages that prevent the flow of life. The glory of God, wrote Irenaeus in the second century, is people fully alive, fully living.”
