Prayer books

How do you pray? How do you learn to pray?

A resource I’ve found to be tremendously helpful in making prayer a rhythm in my life has been The Divine Hours by Phyllis Tickle. It’s a three-volume set, corresponding to the seasons of the year, that provide Psalms, prayers, and Scripture readings for every morning, midday, evening, and night. It’s a great way to provide daily structure for your devotional life or praying together with others.

I have the current volume, Prayers for Autumn and Wintertime (Oct-Jan) for only $5. That’s a bargain. Let me know and I’ll save a copy for you. They will be at Table Talk on Sunday mornings, and I’ll have them on campus visits.
