Five things 11.9

Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:

1… Link o’ the week… The Voice of the Martyrs. This Sunday is the International Day of Prayer for the persecuted Church around the world. Check it out.

2… Parties this weekend!…  This Saturday we’ll be watching the OSU/Texas football game at Cobb’s place (6223 S 28th W Ave). Kickoff is at 7 pm. Then on Sunday, we’ll have party at Peter’s house with games, Catan, Beatles Rock Band (5172 E 30th St). We’ll have some chili and grab some snacks for the road back home. That’s from 4 pm – 6 pm. Drop in for 5 minutes if that’s all you’ve got. We’ve got no agenda this weekend but hanging out together.

3… Passion Conference… January 1-4, 2011. That’s only two months away, if you can believe. Where will Francis Chan, Beth Moore, David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, among several thousand college students from across the nation, be on those days? They’ll be in Atlanta for Passion Conference. You can be to. We can go roadtrippin’. Check out all the details on their website. Your cost is $300 plus your meals. Online registration is now available! A $100 deposit is due by December 1 to save your spot.

4… Campus visit… I’ll be hanging around the campus of Oral Roberts University on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday afternoon I’ll be on the campus of Tulsa University, and then on Thursday evening I’ll be in Norman at OU. Sooners, we’ll meetup at Freebirds on Campus Corner at 6 pm. Be there!

5… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym of the sanctuary building at the church. There’s good food, good people, and an exploration of faith and the college life. This week we continue our series “Everything is Spiritual.”

Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.

Final thought…

“The safest road to Hell is the gradual one—the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.”

— C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters
