Five things 11.23

Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:

1… Link o’ the week… Curious about mission opportunities at First United? Here’s your exhaustive resource: future trips, supported missionaries, and much, much more. Check out and see yourself in mission.

2… Passion Conference… January 1-4, 2011. It’s a little more than a month away. A $100 deposit is due DECEMBER 1, little over a week away. Where will Francis Chan, Beth Moore, David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, among several thousand college students from across the nation, be on those days? They’ll be in Atlanta for Passion Conference. You can be to. We can go roadtrippin’. Check out all the details on their website. Your cost is $300 plus your meals. Online registration is now available!

3… Owen Park… You can spend your Thanksgiving collapsed on the sofa in a tryptophanic turkey coma. Or you can spend it at Owen Park with some of Tulsa’s homeless. Come and bring come cookies. Come and bring a friend. Come and make a friend. Come and pray. Simply come and see what God is up to. It’s an all-day affair so feel free to drop in anytime for as long as you want. All the details here.

4… Table Talk… Sunday, 10:55 am, 4th floor gym of the sanctuary building at the church. There’s good food, good people, and an exploration of faith and the college life. This week we start a conversation about Advent, the book of Exodus and the first story of God-With-Us.

5… I dare you to read the entire book of Exodus during the season of Advent.

Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.

Final thought…

“What a child does when not told what to do is the final indicator of what and who that child is.”

–Dallas Willard
