Genesis 2

Genesis 2:4–25

If chapter 1 is a poem-prologue, then chapter 2 begins the story proper about God and humanity and their place in creation.

What’s cool about the best ancient stories is the way they could have been written yesterday.

For instance, this story of the first woman and man. Take one step in a guys’ dorm and the words It is not good that the man should be alone stands as the greatest understatement in all literature. A guy—even before the epidemic of sin—is not as self-sufficient and independent as he thinks he is.

The image of God is woman and man together.

So what about you? What do you see?
