Genesis: The end

Genesis 7:11–8:19

I will never understand how it became awesome to decorate a baby’s room in a Noah’s ark theme.  This is what happens when we don’t read the Bible. The stories become safe and serene, cute and cuddly. But to actually pay attention to the stories, they are anything but.

This is a story of doom and judgment and death. It is the end of the world.

How do you live when you know the end of the world is coming? Do you wake up in the morning everyday, make a game plan and then remember It’s coming? I imagine Noah at that point crossing out the to-do list and replacing it with two simple words: Build ark.

Next day:

Find alligators, one male, one female. (Delegate to Shem & Ham to determine which is which.)

How would you rearrange your world if you knew the end of the world was coming?

So what about you? What do you see?
