Genesis: Multiply

Genesis 8:20–9:28

Yeah, it’s a story of death and destruction. But that’s not the end. It’s also a story of rescue, redemption, and salvation.

And in that, our stories echo this one. Something drastic has to be done about sin. But God rescues.

Do you notice what God doesn’t say here? Take a good look. What’s not there?

Here’s what I don’t see: You really made me angry, and I never want to see you do that again.

Thank about that.

God doesn’t scold. He doesn’t threaten. He doesn’t refer to the past. No list of don’t’s. Just a couple of simple do’s.

Be fruitful and multiply. Same thing said to Adam and Eve in the Garden. “I want more of you guys running around.”

So what about you? What do you see?
